Quadrant Rail Consulting (QRC) has been closely involved in shaping operations for Sydney Light Rail since mid-2023. Initially engaged to explore strategic synergies between the Sydney and Parramatta networks, QRC assessed opportunities to consolidate operations and maintenance functions, developed new organisational models, and supported stakeholder engagement and recruitment.
In early 2024, QRC took on a more direct role, with Peter O’Brien serving as Acting General Manager of Operations. In this role, QRC oversaw day-to-day network operations, led incident and crisis response, and implemented service optimisation initiatives. Our dual role in strategic planning and operational leadership has improved safety, efficiency, and network performance across Australia’s largest light rail system.
