Quadrant Rail Consulting (QRC) has played a key role in the delivery of Stage 3 of the Gold Coast Light Rail, a 6.7 km extension from Broadbeach to Burleigh Heads, featuring eight new stations and five new LRVs. The project, delivered by GoldlinQ in partnership with the Queensland and Australian Governments, also includes significant upgrades to the Southport depot and supporting infrastructure.
QRC supported the project across all phases—planning, transaction, and delivery. We led commercial negotiations with the O&M and Rail Systems contractors, managed interfaces between design and delivery teams, and oversaw the LRV supply contract. During delivery, QRC resolved complex integration issues around signalling and system compatibility. Notably, we helped reduce O&M contractor pricing by around 30% while maintaining schedule certainty through the COVID pandemic, ensuring key milestones—including LRV deliveries—remained on track.
